Application

The RADPOL PIPES pre-insulated elbow is a tubular fitting used to create a right-angle turn in an underground heating or cooling system. It consists of a bent steel elbow, insulated with rigid polyurethane foam (PUR) and protected on the outside by a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) jacket.

The steel elbow is made of P235GH steel. It is integrated, within the core of the insulation, with a system of detection wires that monitor and signal abnormal conditions (leaks, moisture) along the entire length of the network.

Features

Composition of the pre-insulated element

The pre-insulated component consists of:

  • A bent steel elbow (heat-transfer tube),
  • Thermal insulation made of rigid polyurethane foam (PUR),
  • An outer protective sheath made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE),
  • A pair of sensing wires (sensor wire and return wire) from the fault monitoring system.
