Application

The RADPOL Pipes pre-insulated 45° weld tee is a pipe fitting derived from RADPOL Pipes’ pre-insulated pipe technology, designed to create a branch connection (tap) on a pre-insulated pipeline.

The branch is connected to a 45° elbow immediately after the tap, which straightens the branch outlet while minimizing pressure drops compared to a sharp-angled tap. It consists of a body made of welded P235GH steel tubes and elbows, insulated with rigid polyurethane (PUR) foam and protected on the outside by a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) jacket.

Like straight pipes, it incorporates a system of detection wires into the core of the insulation, enabling the monitoring and signaling of abnormal conditions (leaks, moisture) along the entire length of the network.

Features

Composition of the pre-insulated element
The pre-insulated element consists of:

  • A steel tubular assembly (heat-transfer tube and branch fitting)
  • Thermal insulation made of rigid polyurethane foam (PUR)
  • An outer protective sheath made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE)
  • A pair of sensing wires (sensor wire and return wire) from the fault monitoring system

Dimensional Specifications

D1: Outer diameter of the HDPE casing of the main pipeline (depending on the DN and the insulation series).

D2: outer diameter of the HDPE pipe for the branch line; select from the same range of diameters as the main line, up to and including DN.

The branch length L2 and the height H vary depending on the selected combination of main DN and branch DN, as shown in the dimensioned diagram below: Hmin = 0.5 × (Dz1 + Dz2) + 70 mm.
