Applications

Isocor is a drainage geocomposite comprising a thermoformed geospacer with a symmetrical, non-compressible and impermeable cellular structure mated with a geotextile on one side.
Its purpose is to drain seepage and ground water and direct it towards a drainage manifold to mechanically protect the impermeable layers. It fulfils three major functions for a long project service life:

  • it intercepts and evacuates seepage and ground water, thus reducing the hydrostatic pressure exerted on buried walls
  • it maintains a thin cushion of air along the wall
  • it protects the impermeable layers against mechanical damage, which is particularly important during backfilling operations.

Its true performance lies in its capacity to maintain high flow rates when subjected to loads and provide structural protection. Last but not least, it is impermeable, allowing it to be directly shotcreted or concreted over (permanent shuttering).

Advantages

  • High flow rates that remain constant over the long term thanks to its elevated creep strength
  • Controlled hydraulic pressures thanks to uniform flows over the entire surface, irrespective of the direction in which the product is installed
  • Hydraulic continuity is assured where two membranes are joined together
  • Fast, easy installation without special tools
  • Economic solution compared to those requiring aggregates, both in monetary and installation time terms
  • Chemically inert
