For a high-performance, sustainable water supply network, is the PE100 RCD up to the task? Sustainability is more important than ever in the construction of water supply networks, whether it be
In Côte d'Ivoire, access to drinking water remains a major challenge for rural populations. The Hydro1000 project, carried out in the fall of 2025 in Côte d'Ivoire, aims to supply 1,000 drinking water wells across the country. This program involves the installation of 105 km of HDPE pipes dedicated to drinking water supply (DWS), using the TEC1 solution provided by Elydan.
The Hydro1000 program combines innovation, sustainability, and social impact throughcutting-edge technologies and strong partnerships. Hydro
Produced in partnership with BM Boréal (purchasing center), Sotrad Water (project leader), and ESTIA Synergie groupe BSI (production), this program aims to improve access to drinking water for rural and isolated populations, while creating sustainable and reliable infrastructure.
The Hydro1000 project in Côte d'Ivoire contributes directly to:
• Facilitating and guaranteeingaccess to drinking water in rural and isolated areas
• Developing reliable and sustainable water infrastructure
• Improving public health and the quality of life of local populations
• Promoting the technical expertise of companies in major water supply projects
Début 2026, c’est chaque jour plus de 5000 m³ d’eau potable qui sont extraits de ces nouveaux puits, au bénéfice direct des populations rurales de Côte d’Ivoire !
PE100-RCD is a latest-generation high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the result of continuous innovation in the design of resins and pressure pipes. This material differs from standard PE100 in its increased resistance to chlorinated disinfectants (RD characteristic) and its very high resistance to slow cracking (RC characteristic).
In general, high-density polyethylene for pressure applications is defined by three essential mechanical characteristics:
• MRS (Minimal Required Strength): long-term hydrostatic strength;
• RCP (Rapid Crack Propagation): resistance to rapid cracking;
• SCG (Slow Crack Growth): resistance to slow cracking.
« Les installations se poursuivent et la montée en charge continue, avec un objectif clair : un impact durable, à grande échelle, pour les populations rurales ivoiriennes. »

Elydan TEC1 systems, manufactured from PE100-RCD, offer all the advantages of PE100 material, plus the combined benefits of PE100-RD and PE100-RC.
➡️ Improved resistance to chlorinated disinfectants (RD)
➡️ Long service life even with high chlorine concentrations and/or high water temperatures (> 20°C).
➡️ Possible reuse of existing materials for backfilling the trench (RC)
➡️Savings on filler materials, landfill disposal of excavated material, and time saved during installation: 20% to 50% overall savings compared to a standard PE100 system.
➡️ Reduced environmental impact of construction sites.
➡️ Simplifiedlogistics.
