When choosing a geothermal system to suit your requirements and ground type, it is best to carry out a TRT, or Thermal Response Test, which measures the thermal conductivity of the sub-soil.
The test involves applying a thermal stress to the ground using a geothermal pilot probe that serves as a heat exchanger between a fluid (water) and the ground. The optimum buried probe size can only be calculated accurately by using the results of the TRT, and this becomes doubly important when an array of probes is being planned.
The geothermal probe heads and connections to the manifolds can be located on the surface with our RFID Eliot markers.
